Leadership Development Workshop
The OCO Leadership Development Workshop provides both practical skills for taking leadership on climate change and an opportunity for reflection and renewal to sustain and strengthen that leadership. The workshop is two days long.
Skills and Tools
- Approaches for explaining important but complex concepts related to climate change to non-experts, including: exponential growth, delays, windows of opportunity for action, thresholds, nonlinearities and positive feedback, uncertainties and precaution.
- Resources including: set of slides for teaching about climate basics, slide sets for interactive exercises on climate change, and a powerful computer simulation tool that conveys climate dynamics.
- Techniques for promoting conversations that acknowledge the emotional dimensions of climate change.
- Techniques for bringing vision and possibility into climate change work.
- Techniques that help people set intention for action on climate change.
Reflection and Renewal
- Time for reflection, journaling and sharing
- Questions for deepening understanding and commitment
- Experiences to strengthen clarity and positive vision
